Match this Saturday
Don't forget the match this weekend. If you haven't renewed your membership please be prepared to do so. To join you will need, a current Bullet Hole card, current NRA Membership (other 2nd Amendment groups may be approved by the BOD on a case by case basis), $20.00, and be ready to sign up to work 2 matches. If you are a new shooter or don't have much experience in running a stage, don't worry we will set you up with an experienced shooter. Clint Ancker is the SO on one side and I am working on getting someone to run the other side. We will start around 10 am as usual. See you there.
Last month's match
We had good stages last month. We did a variation of the box drill, which emphasizes shooting on the move at multiple targets. The other side featured target identification as well as shooting on the move and getting to cover. Remember to see the the stages click on the word NORTH or SOUTH on the scoresheet to get the diagrams of each stage (thanks to Steve Hoober). There were a lot of points dropped last match. It is more difficult to shoot on the move, but in my opinion a very necessary skill. If you had some trouble with these stages, then you might consider incorporating shooting on the move into your practice/training routine. Congratulations to Jim Hewins for dropping the fewest points in the match (12). Right behind were Greg Moats and Jim Barber with 15, and Riichiro Suzuki with 16.
Reciprocity of Kansas CCH licenses
The Attorney General's office published a list of states for reciprocity a couple of weeks ago. It was then pulled by the new Attorney General for review. The review has been completed and the list is back up on his website (www.ksag.org). There are 22 states on the list. NO states are listed currently that recognize the Kansas license, but we know there are some states that do. The best place for this info is on each state's website for concealed carry. For example, Kansas is listed on the Missouri site. Remember it is your responsibility as the CCH holder to make sure your permit is recognized in any particular state, AND you are operate under the laws of the other state, not Kansas, when you are in their jurisdiction.
CCH holder shooting
As far as I know this is the first reported shooting by a CCH holder in Kansas (actuallly was on an Oklahoma license). The ABC affiliate in Topeka has a story about it posted on their site including a video of their news story.
